On September 30 and October 1, 2024, the COST Action 6G-PHYSEC, supported by the European Union, organized a training school at Linköping University, Sweden. The event focused on fundamental topics such as information-theoretic security metrics, physical layer security methods, and quantum key distribution protocols. Held in Linköping University’s Ada Lovelace seminar room, named after the world’s first computer programmer, this school provided a fitting venue for forward-looking discussions on information security technology.

The training sessions brought together a diverse group of participants selected from twelve European countries, fostering a dynamic, collaborative environment. Expert tutorials were delivered by Assoc. Prof. Guilherme Xavier from Linköping University, Dr. Linda Senigagliesi from Università Politecnica delle Marche, and Assoc. Prof. Junqing Zhang from the University of Liverpool.

Assoc. Prof. Onur Günlü, the head of the Information Theory and Security Laboratory (ITSL) at Linköping University’s Information Coding Division, served as the local organizer. In recognition of his contributions, he was later elected as the co-leader of the COST Action's Working Group 2 on "Intelligent and Resilient Systems".
