The 2016 Âé¶¹´«Ã½AV International Symposium on Information Theory was held in the Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Barcelona from July 10 through July 15, 2016. M ore than 800 participants attended several technical events in a luminous, open space, merging old and new structures. This event was promoted and supported by the Spain Section Chapter of Information Theory.

4th Spanish Workshop on Signal Processing, Information Theory and Communications
This workshop featured a morning session with threeÌýtechnical lectures: Javier GarcÃa-FrÃas on "Approaching Theoretical Limits with Low-Complexity Analog Joint Source-Channel Coding Schemes;" Geert Leus onÌýSparse Sensing for Statistical Inference;" and Martin Haardt on "Efficient Two-Way Relaying Techniques for Amplify and Forward Relays with Multiple Antennas and aHybrid Beamforming Concepts for Massive MIMO." In theÌýafternoon session, Ph.D. students and post-doctoral researchers presented and discussed their work.
